BRAIN CATCHY

Mental health is a very crucial element in the world we live in. Unfortunately, we are not taught how to deal with stressful situations hence leading to increased level of depression.

From WHO; Mental Health is the state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, how one can cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community"

What is Mental Health to me?

Its understanding that life is a curve with ups and downs. And when its at the downside, this is where most of us are unable to cope. Not remembering that the only way out is only up unless you just want to stay down.

Some of the things affecting us are; finances more so the urgency to make it abruptly. Societal pressure ie) getting married, colorism, homosexuality etc. All this things however, are all tied to one thing; SOCIAL MEDIA.

Social media is a blessing but more so a curse. In the documentary 'The Social Dilemma' the very gurus who came up with this sites are now against them. I wont go into details about the detriments of it but am quite sure you are thinking of them as you read this.

So how do we overcome this dilemma?

I personally deactivated all social sites that were not useful or did not add value to my life. If this is too much just unfollow people/ pages that may make you feel unworthy

I know diverse individuals will read this and we may have believers and non believers in the platform. However, both of them believe in supernatural outcomes. Gods timing and law of attraction/ universe energy respectively. Therefore if its not your time it just aint. We've got to understand this but then again continue working towards becoming better. If it works out well and good and if it doesn't well look at the small things that make you happy.

My famous dad's saying, If it was meant to be it will definitely happen and if it wasn't well it just wasn't.

Finally, from the World Health Organization itself; Understanding your ability as an individual is very important. Every individual is unique and until you discover that yourself and tap into it then we'll be talking of mental health for a long time coming.

I could never exhaust this issue. But there was a glimpse of my insights.

Enjoy.
