WHAT THEY FORGOT TO TELL YOU
Here are some of my 28 lessons in 28 years
They say advice is 1% and perspiration is 99%. But you know what that's them. For me a constant reminder surely does keep one motivated and going. So am thankful for all who shared their insights. Special shout out to Fredrick, Lydia, Irene, Carol, Gathoni for some of your lessons.
I'll try keep it short and sweet.
1.Put God first and the rest shall follow. This is such a cliché; but its what we live by. We cannot breathe the air we breathe if its not up to Him you know. Make Him your bestfriend your partner name them all. 2.A favorite quote from my Dad that am learning to live by. Whatever is yours will be and if its not meant to be it just aint. 3. What's all this fuss about marriage...Huh!! Society please don't take me to depression and yet you are in miserable marriages wanting to be single. Go read 1st Corinthians chapter 7 and maybe you'll get where am coming from. 4. Health is really bypassed. You can definitely buy happiness buy you cant buy good health. Eat right, drinks lots of water, exercise and most importantly lenga stress,,, I know easier said than done but try. 5. For every woman. Trust your instincts. INTUITION is a God given gift to us women trust it. 6. Don't give a fuck what people think. The minute you walk of the room/ situation/ dead/ no one remember... Ati who again!!!! Also whether you do good or bad people gonna talk 7. For the ladies again, never tell a man how he should treat you. Trust you me he does that to the woman he loves. Wait on the right one for you and you wont have to ask even the bare minimum.
8. Social media is a scam. People only tend to highlight their highs. However its also a good platform to make money. This applies if social media is taking a negative toll to your mental health, take breaks from it as much as you need to. 9. Even if it takes forever take your time. Take time to heal, to recollect. You know what Rome wasn't built in a day. 10. Cherish your loved ones you'd never know when see them last. 11. Money, family and friendship is really tricky. You have to have a really strong bong to maintain trust. If its not necessary do not involve money and friendship 12. Do good and be kind. Everyone has something that they are battling with. Do not expect favor in return. 13. Procrastination is really a thief of progress. I know sometimes we may just feel defeated but most times just shake off the dust and do it 14. No manual of how's life supposed to be. Get a job by 25, Get married by 30 etc., you know what am talking about. Do you,,, set your pace.
15. Never trust people. In life its really prudent not to trust people. Every individual wants to gain something from you. Be wise. 16.Privacy and Secrecy...Don't tell people about everything . They cant use that against you. 17. Social skills are better than educational skills; Read my previous article on Emotional Intelligence Survivors tend to go far. 18. Its never enough no matter whatever you get. So stop running and trying to chase stuff. Be content. 19. Comparison is the thief of all joy. Compete against yourself. 20. Expectations is the root of disappointments.
21.Not everyone will love you for who you are or either you do good or bad. So never give a care of people perceptions of you.
22. Don't force relationships if they were meant to stay they will and if not there's the door and they are definitely there to teach you lessons so take notes.
23. Travel as much as you can. People tend to think travelling is for the rich but you can travel with as 5000 Ksh.
24. In your career have a backup plan. Get a skill that can earn you money. It may not work out at least try.
25. Embrace the negative or tough times in your journey they actually make you stronger. Experience betrayal to appreciate loyalty, sadness to appreciate happiness and brokenness to appreciate fullness etc.
26. Your happiness comes first, this is your story you aint in a competition.
27. Don't settle for less. In that job, that relationship, that situation.
28. You can always start over...be it at 20, 30 ,40.... Believe in the process
